Community Water Project – Bringing Clean Water to Rural Villages

The John M. Kamya Foundation Events Community Water Project

Water is life—and yet, for many families in rural Uganda, access to clean and safe drinking water remains out of reach. The John M. Kamya Foundation has responded with urgency by launching and expanding its Community Water Project, aimed at installing wells and boreholes in villages that lack reliable water sources. This initiative is not only improving health outcomes but restoring dignity and hope to communities that have long been overlooked.

In March 2025, we began a new phase of the project in Eastern Uganda, where waterborne diseases are still a major cause of illness and child mortality. By working hand-in-hand with local leaders and trained engineers, our team is ensuring that every well we construct is built to last and designed to meet the daily needs of hundreds of residents. The project also incorporates community-led maintenance training to ensure the sustainability of each water source.

This intervention has already reduced the time and distance women and children must travel to collect water—freeing up hours that can now be spent in school, on income-generating activities, or with family. The reduction in disease has also lessened the burden on local clinics, enabling better healthcare for all.

We believe clean water should not be a luxury, but a right. With your support, we aim to expand this project to even more communities. Each donation helps us fund drilling, construction, filtration systems, and ongoing maintenance—so that clean water becomes a permanent part of life in every village we serve.
