Saints Alex & Henry Kirowooza Catholic Parish Declared a Full Parish

The John M. Kamya Foundation Events Saints Alex & Henry Kirowooza Catholic Parish Declared a Full Parish

On December 6, 2019, The John M. Kamya Foundation and the local Catholic community came together to celebrate a historic milestone—the official declaration of Saints Alex & Henry Kirowooza Catholic Parish by Bishop Serverus Jjumba. What began as a small church, built through the generosity of our donors and volunteers, has now become a fully recognized parish, serving as both a spiritual and social anchor for the region.

This transformation is not just a religious achievement—it's a symbol of unity, resilience, and community development. The parish now supports over ten surrounding villages and has become a central gathering point for worship, faith-based education, and support services for those in need. Weekly masses, sacraments, and youth fellowships are now part of everyday life at Kirowooza.

Beyond spiritual care, the parish also provides social services including food distribution, emergency assistance, and counseling programs for families. It plays an especially vital role in mentoring youth and reinforcing positive leadership through moral teachings grounded in faith and community service.

The John M. Kamya Foundation is honored to have played a role in this milestone and continues to support the parish's outreach efforts. With continued donations and volunteer engagement, the parish will grow as a beacon of hope, faith, and transformation in Uganda.
